What is the San Diego Comic Con? Well, it's only the largest comic book convention in the world! It’s a place where comic book fans get together, dress up, chat, dress up, buy comics, dress up, promote their comics, dress up, and have a good time. Oh, did I mention that they dress up as their favorite comic/movie characters? Sorry for my bias but I am a big fan of dressing up :)
Since you have all these fanatic comics/movie fans in the room at the same time, why not promote your toys and films? In fact, that is exactly what toy companies, such as Hasbro, and Film companies, such as Lucas Arts, do.

So without further ado, on with the coverage of 2008 San Diego Comic Con!

First up:

A shot of the convention from outside.
-------------------------------

Up the stairs and into the main attraction.
The suspense is killing me!
------------------------------------
Ok! We are finally here! Wow, there sure is a lot of people interested in the same things as us...

------------------------------------
One of the frist thing you see protecting the Con is...

A 6 Foot Lego Clone Trooper Captain Rex!
This is based on the hit movie: Star Wars Clone Wars playing in the theaters now.

What is it that you say? Don't believe it's a 6 Foot Lego trooper? Well...

I knew I needed proof so here it is! Shown here with Viking Teng who is 6', the Lego Captain Rex is quite impressive.
---------------------------------------------------------
Now I have a question for you. Who is the grandson of an Attack of the Clones Episode II trooper?

A stormtrooper of course! You cannot be at a comic book convention and not see a Stormtrooper. No matter how hard you try, you will always see either a statue or someone dressed up as a stormtrooper. By the way, that's a cool looking Clone Wars Obi Wan!
-------------------------------------------------------
And if you like legos and Indiana Jones:

But what is it that his holding? I know it's supposed to be a skull, but for some reason it looks like the Death Star in Star Wars!

---------------------------------------------------------
What's better than a lego life size figure?

A life-size metal Iron Man!

---------------------------------------------------------
Another cool Star Wars display is the...

Clone Wars Anakin life-size statue. What's cool about the design of this costume is that the upper armor is the same armor that Darth Vader wears. Could it be some foreshadowing taking place?
Here is a Darth Vader video that will surely make you laugh. It's the famous Darth Vader being a smartass video.

Can't get enough of Darth Vader? here is another video of an actor dressed up as Darth Vader walking around downtown entertaining people.

--------------------------------------------------------
Now the next two pictures somehow promotes a horror film.

But Halloween is months away!

Yup, that's kind of creepy!
---------------------------------------------------
And to calm the scray mood...

A section that sells BONGO comics! With of course, a Bart Simpson statue as the center piece.

Since you can't have Bart without his dad...

Here's a Homer Statue! AWWW... Isn't that cute? Don't you just want to squeeze the life out of that statue?
-----------------------------------------------------------
Batman and Robin Lego statues! Isn't it creative that the statues are built with legos to look like the actual lego characters (boxy arms and legs) ?
